Zombies besiege the Filipino countryside in 'Outside' trailer
Netflix’s first Filipino zombie flick — directed by Carlo Ledesma (‘Sundo’) — arrives on the platform October 17th.
NETFLIX HAS DROPPED the official trailer for Carlo Ledesma’s Outside, a Filipino zombie thriller that — aligned with en vogue contemplative zombie flicks — uses the outbreak as mere background for a much closer terror than reanimated corpses.
The film follows an unstable and morose patriarch (Sid Lucero) who journeys homeward with his wife (Beauty Gonzales) and family to his secluded, now zombie-infested farmhouse. Tension reaches a fever pitch as Lucero’s character wrestles with his traumatic past. “You can’t keep out what’s already inside,” the trailer opens ominously.
Ledesma isn’t new to the platform. His 2019 MMFF film, Sunod, found considerable success on Netflix. His new film, Outside, is slated for an October release, in time for the platform’s roster for Halloween. “At its core, it’s a film about a family’s survival,” he says of the film.
Outside drops on Netflix this October 17th.
