'ML' is streaming on Cinemalaya's YouTube Channel
Watch this wildly cathartic film about Martial Law — free on YouTube.
In 2018, Benedict Mique's ML, a blunt cautionary tale about remembering our nation's horrid past, premiered at Cinemalaya. The film got praises, mostly for its cathartic plot and Eddie Garcia's deranged portrayal as the film's main baddie.
To those who haven't seen it, now's your chance to watch it — for free — on Cinemalaya's YouTube Channel. This is in part of the festival's effort to make their films available to the public; Dan Villegas' Mayohan is already up, too.
The film casts the late Eddie Garcia as a sinister retired general with a bad case of PTSD. It kicks off with Tony Labrusca's Carlo, a young Martial Law skeptic, who "gets more than what he bargained for when he decides to learn about the dark days of Martial Law straight from an old retired soldier who may be one of its worst abusers."
ML was part of the same lineup as Liway, also available to stream here via Rappler Act One. Watch the film here.
